ETA45MINS (EstimatedTimeOfArrivalFourtyFiveMinutes)
is a musical and cultural idea founded by
DUM BOY STICKY
PLEXØS and HUMAN PART and is currently being operated
solely by DUM BOY STICKY in Salt Lake City, UT.
ETA45 is founded on the idea of
celebrating new and under-appreciated
styles of electronic dance music and
celebrating authenticity.
The goal of ETA45 is to contribute to SLC's dance culture
by creating a foundation that allows new artists
producers, creators and organizers to represent themselves
and foster an independent and organic culture in SLC.
It's about so much more than releasing tracks and putting on
shows. It's about inspring others and feeding back off the
energy and ideas new people bring to the table. It's about
never saying no. Play fucking literal ass ripping in your
set and if people have a laugh and think its funny,
whatever go for it.
Seriously though, there's a reason I always do shit the
hard way when it comes to ETA. People often ask me why
I don't just create a website using wordpress, or why
I don't just hire a graphic designer, or why I don't
do this or that because it would be SO much easier.
It's because that's exactly how it's already being done.
I didn't learn to code HTML in a week because it was
easy. I didn't learn graphic design because it was
easy. I didn't learn any of this shit because I
thought it would be easy. I don't want it to be
easy, I just want it to be authentic. I strongly
believe that if you create with the same tools that are
readily being used by everyone in the industry, to some
degree, you will be limited in the results that you generate.
So by creating an entire ass website from scartch, by
throwing events without any idea how it's done, making
music in Reaper, etc, I believe that the end result has an
intangible and indescribable element to it that makes it
ETA. And I think other people feel it too.
I won't act like this is some novel idea or I'm the first
one doing this bc I'm far from it. But I am the first to do
it for myself and other people fuck with it. So I'm grateful
for them <3.
Point is, ETA is about Salt Lake City and our specific little
niche of people making music, throwing events, and having a
good time. It's always gonna be SLC. Come thru and hang with us.
